Growing up in the punk/ska scene in Cincinnati, Dan began his musical career at the age of 13. His love for the guitar led him west to the University of Colorado where he studied classical music and music history. More importantly, this is where he discovered his passion for travel, culture, and the variety of music that this planet has to offer. Dan spent years exploring the world and touring in bands, all of which added to his genre-jumping style of playing. The day the banjo stepped into his life was only about a year before World's Finest did, which has become a staple of this band's unique sound.
Sean comes from the midwest where he has been playing the alto sax since the age of 10, and guitar since he was 13. After moving to Portland in 2011, he met up with World's Finest within a few months and has made it his musical home since.
A message from Evan: "I knew I was destined to play music ever since the first time I dropped a fork on my dinner plate, then picked it up and dropped it again by accident on to the plate, all in perfect time. That one bar of fork-plate music was all I needed. Soon after my foray into abstract dinnerware percussion, it dawned on me that I was more suited for playing bass. I picked up my first electric bass in the summer of 2003, and soon realized that funk was what's up. After several years of funking out on the electric, my Portland State Professor and mentor suggested that I try out upright bass, as he felt that I would get more out of the music program at the college on the giant wooden bass structure. He was right, and a few years later I proudly graduated from PSU's music school. My basses and I have been through many musical journeys, including but not limited to: 5am sets in the forest playing to 12 people, 5pm sets in the daytime playing to way more than 12 people, jazz festivals, reggae festivals, electronica festivals, moments where my bass turns into an unfolding knuckle-troll eating itself, moments where my bass doesn't turn into an unfolding knuckle-troll eating itself, many moments of serenity, several instances of chaos, and one time when I think I realized that dogs don't really get music. I've currently landed in the heart of this World's Finest adventure, and I couldn't be happier. Let's do this thang!"
